Equipment in our laboratories
Commercially fabricated and home-made research equipment is located in our laboratories:
- Preparation and study of nanostructures
- Very low temperature research and EPR spectroscopy
- Magnetic nanoparticles research
- Preparation and structural analysis of materials
- Study of ferromagnetic materials
In co-operation with SAS in Košice joint laboratories are equipped with :
- UHV STM laboratory - complex setup for preparation and characterization of thin films and nanostructures in ultra-high vacuum with an integrated scanning probe microscope operating at ultra-high vacuum, ultra-low temperatures and high magnetic fields
- Joint laboratory of transmission electron microscopy
- 3He-4He dilution refrigerator with top-loading probe made by Oxford Instruments, base temperature 50 mK, 9 T superconducting magnet - specific heat, ac-susceptibility, el. transport, thermal conductivity
- MPMS3 - Magnetic properties measurement system 3 - ac-susceptibility and magnetic moment measurements at temperatures 1.8 - 400 K and magnetic fields up to 7 T, including low-field option
- MPMS - Magnetic properties measurement system - ac-susceptibility and magnetic moment measurements at temperatures 0.45 - 400 K and magnetic fields up to 5 T, including low-field option
- PPMS - Physical properties measurement system - measurements of el. and thermal transport, specific heat at temperatures 1.8 - 350 K, magnetic field up to, includes sample rotator and magnetometer, 3He option allows to measure el. transport and specific heat down to 300 mK
