Ocenenie pre prof. Orendáča - Outstanding Referees of the Physical Review journals

American Physical Society oznamuje vynikajúcich posudzovateľov na rok 2022

Ridge, NY, 25. februára 2022 – Americká fyzikálna spoločnosť (APS) vybrala 146 vynikajúcich posudzovateľov na rok 2022, ktorí preukázali výnimočnú prácu pri hodnotení rukopisov publikovaných v časopisoch Physical Review. Úplný zoznam vynikajúcich posudzovateľov je dostupný online na http://journals.aps.org/OutstandingReferees.

Program vynikajúcich rozhodcov, ktorý bol založený v roku 2008, každoročne oceňuje približne 150 v súčasnosti aktívnych posudzovateľov za ich neoceniteľnú prácu. V porovnaní s Fellowship v APS a iných organizáciách je to celoživotné ocenenie. Výber v tomto roku sa uskutočnil na základe 40-ročných záznamov o viac ako 82 000 posudzovateľov, ktorí boli vyzvaní na posúdenie rukopisov, vrátane viac ako 40 000, ktoré boli zaslané v roku 2021. Základ pre výber vynikajúcich posudzovateľov zohľadňuje kvalitu, počet a včasnosť správ posudzovateľa, bez ohľadu na členstvo v APS, krajinu pôvodu alebo oblasť výskumu. Jednotlivci so súčasným alebo veľmi nedávnym priamym spojením s časopismi, ako sú redaktori a členovia redakčných rád, boli vylúčení.

Ocenení v roku 2022 pochádzajú z 29 rôznych krajín s veľkými zastúpením z USA, Nemecka, Talianska, Francúzska, Španielska a Spojeného kráľovstva. Všetci príjemcovia tohto ocenenia boli informovaní a dostali odznak do chlopne a certifikát na pamiatku ich úspechu. Výber pre tento ocenenie je vždy ťažký a APS vyjadruje uznanie všetkým posudzovateľom, ktorí pomáhajú urobiť sériu Physical Review jednou z najcitovanejších fyzikálnych časopisov na svete.

Úsilie týchto jednotlivcov nielenže udržiava štandardy časopisov na vysokej úrovni, ale v mnohých prípadoch pomáha aj autorom zlepšiť kvalitu a čitateľnosť ich článkov – aj tých, ktoré APS nepublikuje. Je potrebné zablahoželať a poďakovať vynikajúcim posudzovateľom za ich vynikajúce služby pre fyzikálnu komunitu.

American Physical Society Announces Outstanding Referees for 2022

Ridge, NY, 25 February 2022 — The American Physical Society (APS) has selected 146 Outstanding Referees for 2022 that have demonstrated exceptional work in the assessment of manuscripts published in the Physical Review journals. A full list of the Outstanding Referees is available online at http://journals.aps.org/OutstandingReferees.
Instituted in 2008, the Outstanding Referee program annually recognizes approximately 150 of the currently active referees for their invaluable work. Comparable to Fellowship in the APS and other organizations, this is a lifetime award. The selection this year was made from 40 years of records on over 82,000 referees who have been called upon to review manuscripts, including more than 40,000 that were submitted in 2021. The basis for the Outstanding Referees selection takes into account the quality, number and timeliness of a referee’s reports, without regard for membership in the APS, country of origin, or field of research. Individuals with current or very recent direct connections to the journals, such as editors and editorial board members, were excluded.
The 2022 honorees come from 29 different countries, with large contingents from the U.S., Germany, Italy, France, Spain and the U.K. All recipients of this distinction have been notified, and have been sent a lapel pin and a certificate to commemorate their achievement. The selection for this achievement is always difficult and APS expresses its appreciation to all referees that help make the Physical Review collection some of the most cited physics journals in the world.
The efforts of these individuals not only keep the standards of the journals at a high level, but in many cases also help authors improve the quality and readability of their articles—even those that are not published by APS. The Outstanding Referees are to be congratulated and thanked for their outstanding service to the physics community.
